Beschreibung: Astronomy always used to be a typical application field of Geometry. The alleged rotation of the sky around the Earth was source of many myths and whole religions. Monumental structures like Stonehenge and the Egyptian or Central American pyramids were also giant observatories for the evidently strange motions in sky. The author will show that the alignments of those structures had not only to do with sun positions, but might also have been influenced by hard-to-comprehend extreme moon positions and special positions of the Pleiades: 4500 years ago, the full moon stood exactly at the Zenith above the great Pyramids of Giza only once every 19 years (this is not the case anymore). Some explicitly and very accurately marked directions of Stonehenge allowed to indicate the dates when such an extreme moon position occurred. The Central American pyramid towns of Teotihuacan and Chichen Itza have denoted and very precisely given directions that allow to predict the night when the Pleiades -- an important sign of the zodiac for the indigenous tribes -- appeared exactly at the Zenith above their pyramids. This worked, however, only for two or three respective centuries when the pyramid towns were at their heights, and got more and more inaccurate at the time the places were deserted for unknown reasons. Thus, geometrical understanding of not at all trivial spatial movements might lead to better understanding of remarkable achievements of prehistoric observations (see Figure).
